Rakeen - an Arabic word that means "central pillar" or "trustworthy support" - commenced operations in a royal decree by His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, as the land master-planner and developer to be responsible for RAK's property development.

Rakeen's main highlight at MAPIC (an international real estate exhibition held in Cannes, France from November 14-16, 2007) was an Uptown Tbilisi development in Georgia which comprises a luxurious shopping mall, four ultra-modern residential towers, two 40 store office towers and a 2,500 square meters RAK Ceramics showroom. This projects is one of three mixed-use projects in Georgia that Rakeen is involved in, at a total cost of more than AED 5.5 billion.
Recently Rakeen is involved in two more projects in Georgia - Tbilisi Heights in Tabakhmela and a 5 star hotel and luxury villas in Vardzia. Several huge projects are in process of elaboration and will appear on our web-site news shortly.
